Custom built automotive features smog reducing technology

A leading design company within the automotive industry has custom built a high performance supercar featuring a unique clean air technology.

BASF Catalysts’ PremAir smog reducing technology is now featured on a new, custom built “supercar, ” the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina, a unique automobile based on a chassis of a 2003 Ferrari Enzo. This is PremAir’s first application on an exotic performance vehicle that reaches speeds of up to 233 mph, accelerating 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.

Bike equipped with breakthrough NuVinci drivetrain wins "Bike of the Year" award

Designs for a future generation of mobile telephones were on show at the year-end in Cologne by students of the Cologne International School of Design headed by Prof. Günter Horntrich and Andreas Wrede. The concept designs for the future of mobile communication are aimed essentially at opportunities for individualising Motorola mobile telephones and displaying new opportunities in mobile design and conceivable additional uses for private purposes.

Some visitors to this year's Geneva Auto Show (March 8th thru 18th) will ask themselves just these questions when faced with the new fully transparent Rinspeed creation "eXasis". The insect-like body and even the floor pan of the seemingly "glass" concept car from the renowned Swiss powerhouse for new designs and ideas actually consist of a transparent high-tech plastic with a tinge of pale yellow.

Multi-chamber Extrusion Profiles

A new type of Multi-Port Extrusion (MPE) tubing is entering the application area of brazed radiators that has been dominated by welded and folded tubes - usually made in house of cladded tube stock. The novelty was brought to market by Hydro with VW as the first customer. This type of MPE tube is extruded with a combination of wide chambers and a thin wall thickness and to combine it with clad fin in the radiator.
