GLARE 3 6/5-0.4

Description

GLARE stands for GLas REinforced aluminium. GLARE is a sheet material and belongs to the family of Fiber-metal laminiates (FMLs). GLARE 3 6/5-0.4 is composed of 6 0.4 mm thick layers of aluminium sheet (2024-T3), seperated by 5 layers of cross-ply glass-fiber pre-pegs with epoxy matrixes. It's properties are mostly determined by the alumium sheet, but GLARE has a lower specific weight, better resistance to corrosion and fire, and it has better impact strength and fatigue characteristics. The combination of epoxy matrixes and aluminium sheets makes it a hybrid composite.
