Remarks SMC is an abreviation for Sheet Molding Compound. This is a material composed of Styrene, Polyester, Glass fibre, a filler and some agents. SMC is delivered as sheet usually 4mm thick and 1500mm wide. It can be stored in a roll or folded prior to application. SMC must be used within weeks or some months depending of the formulation and storage conditions. For first class surface quality the galss content is limited to 30%. Continuous strands and woven rovings are also avoided to optimise surface quality
