Environmental remarks The winning of cobalt is often a byproduct of copper production. The typical metal content is 0,1%. The world resources are 1483000 tonne. At the current year production of 33000 ton this results in a RI of 45 year. Important producers are Zaïre (36%) and CIS (20%). The US EPA regulates releases of Cobalt to the environment by setting permissible exposition limits for cobalt and its derivates
