Environmental remarks Each 6-12 months the sisal plant can be harvested, after the plant is four years old. Continuous land occupation causes soil erosion.

General

Remarks Leaf fiber, long glossy stiffe and coarse fiber. Sisal fibers resist seawater and have high mechanical properties which are comparable to those of glass fibers. The structure and properties of these fibers depend on the age of the plant from which it is extracted.
