Remarks Aluminium nitride T180 belongs to the class of nitride ceramics. Nitride ceramics have a major advantage over metals in their high-temperature capability, reflected in their higher strengths at temperatures above 1000 °C and better oxidation and corrosion resistance. The mechanical properties are strongly dependent on their surfaces and the presence of defects resulting from their finishing and handling. Production of ceramic articles start with fine powder which is given shape by various casting and pressing methods prior to sintering at approximately 0.7 of the melting temperature. This specific grade has a thermal conductivity of 180 W/(m.K) against 285 W/(m.K) for standard grades.
