Last november was a memorable month for us at Matbase, we passed the milestone of 1000 visitors per day. So I guess we were not that far of when we thought it would be a good idea to make the material database we used as students during our stay at the Delft University of Technology accessable to other people. Apparently, people appreciate the easy way they can lookup the material properties and how we present the data. read more »

The environmental theme is making a comeback. Not only do politicians finally consider it an issue also Industry leaders are facing reality. Even better the European Union has understood that in order to change things just making up rules isn't the only direction. By introducing Article 13** in DIRECTIVE 2005/32/EC the EU underwrites the need for good solid information to help out the Industry (especially small and medium-sized enterprises) to tackle environmental issues. read more »

All products that you use have been made of materials and that is so obvious, that when you interact with products you almost forget that the materials are an intermediary between you and the product's functionality. But materials achieve more. Materials play an important role in the experiences people have with products. Users see the colors of materials, feel the texture and its weight and hear a sound when moving the object. read more »

Far too often the addition "New and improved!" on a product is just an empty shell to attract your attention to the same old thing. But we at Matbase really believe we have made serious improvements to our product. Maybe some users will disagree and would have liked us to stick with Dutch. read more »
